Talent & Workforce Committee

The purpose of the Talent & Workforce Committee is to provide direction and support for our community's workforce development efforts by participating in and executing our Forward Opelika Initiative's "Attract & Align Talent" goal. This includes, but is not limited to: 

• Developing a comprehensive regional talent plan
• Executing a talent attraction & retention campaign
• Growing the talent pipeline through:
  • Business & education partnerships within K-12, teacher events, parent education & raising awareness & enrollment in post-secondary opportunities
  • Develop a comprehensive talent repository of workforce services & programs
  • Build talent portal for employers & prospective employees/job postings
  • Serve as a welcome wagon to get new residents into pipeline quicker
• Address workforce barriers like achievable housing, affordable childcare & transportation issues
